Human-computer interaction: Interdisciplinary roots and trends
نویسنده
چکیده
Methodology, theory, and practice in the ®eld of Human±Computer Interaction (HCI) all share the goal of producing interactive software that can be used eciently, eectively, safely, and with satisfaction. HCI is cross-disciplinary in its conduct and multidisciplinary in its roots. The central concept of HCI is usability, ease of use plus usefulness. Achieving good usability requires attention to both product and development process, particularly for the user interaction design, which should serve as requirements for the user interface software component. This paper reviews some of the theory and modeling supporting the practice of HCI, development life cycles and activities, and much of the practice that constitutes ``usability engineering''. Future application areas of interest in HCI include new interaction styles, virtual environments, the World Wide Web, information visualization, and wearable computing. Ó 1998 Elsevier Science Inc. The Challenges and Trends of Deploying Blockchain in the Real World for the Users’ Need
Blockchain technology is a decentralized and open database maintained by a peer-to-peer network, offering a “trustless trust” for untrusted parties. Despite the fact that some researchers consider blockchain as a bubble, blockchain technology has the genuine potential to solve problems across industries. In this article, we provide an overview of the development that Blockchain technology has h...
متن کاملInteraction Design Patterns: Twelve Theses
This position paper was written for the CHI2000 Patterns Workshop, The Hague, 2–3 April, 2000. It is a revised and extended version of a paper for a patterns workshop of the British HCI Group in March 2000. It offers twelve statements outlining my position about patterns in human-computer interaction (HCI). The first, under “Roots”, suggest how HCI, unlike software engineering, can adapt the or...
متن کاملHuman Computer Interaction Using Vision-Based Hand Gesture Recognition
With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

متن کاملIntegração curricular por meio da prática de ensino interdisciplinar em IHC
Curriculum integration has been one of the trends in Education, so that the teaching makes sense to students, whose reasoning is guided by practical perception of knowledge in construction. The National Curriculum Guidelines of Computing Courses, under homologation, addresses this integration, including aspects related to human-computer interaction (HCI). In this sense, this paper presents a pi...
